COST OF JOINING STEUBEN COUNTY HOMESCHOOLERS

This is a tricky subject for some and we completely understand this.  While we really try to run SCH as a low-cost, bootstrap (budget) group, the reality is that there are some costs associated with SCH.  For example, SCH is currently in the process of becoming a registered non-profit and apply for a 501(c)(3) designation.  While this will help us be able to apply for grants, conduct fundraisers, and get other discounts, it also brings a few costs (as there is a cost for both non-profit registration as well as the 501(c)(3) designation). In addition to this, our website has some very modest costs involved.  Finally, we believe that a modest fee can help to encourage families to collaborate.

As far as a specific amount, the donation for joining SCH should be an amount you feel is appropriate for the value SCH brings to you (but with a minimum of $10/family).

IS STEUBEN COUNTY HOMESCHOOLERS FOR YOU?

Our group is always growing and we welcome newcomers to our group with open arms!  If you are new to the area and/or homeschooling, are searching for a homeschool community to call home, or are an established homeschool family looking for even more resources for your children, we would love to connect with you!

Founded in 2018, Steuben County Homeschoolers is a formal homeschool group open to all homeschoolers in the Steuben County area (including surrounding areas) regardless of curriculum, religious affiliation (or not), and homeschool teaching method.  As a group, we focus on three main values: 1) relationships, 2) community involvement, and 3) inclusivity.
